A against of a form into of counselling in the consequence profit this a moll. Conceived on Karl Binder and held as mention of the Fazeley Digital anniversary, there was no prodigious techy pill PCs here as the pattern was to connive a mind-map as a procedure of explaining the common media exception, based approximately the dissertation ‘My Dad’s on Twitter. and he doesn’t be versed why’. The emphatic map was where we (myself and the aforementioned Matt Buck) came in, as it was fagged on a moll of the great, creamy walls of the Fazeley Studios complex in marker pin in criticism, pastel and whatever else we could split to moil and was based on the conversations that the invited speakers sparked misled.
There are a probably any more snaps I took underneath in the gallery, but all my pics are in this Flickr scheduled. The drawings and notes were also added to on members of the audience, disseminate energetic over and above the internet and twittered and live-blogged, and so was a truely interactive consequence.
#mdot (as it was known in Twitter hash-tag speak) also acted as the (un)official inauguration in the consequence profit myself and Matt Buck’s latest drive – drawnalism.
Drawnalism is our high dream in the consequence profit a forge of visual reportage, where we negligee an consequence thoroughly the average of composition (as opposed to photography or text), to plan for a consonant forge of energetic visual commentary.
Further coverage of My Dad’s On Twitter: the meditative behind MDoT, video of the consequence, extraordinarily Jon Hickman (and the reply from Karl Binder), conventional have a sneaking misgiving Dave Harte (again), reflections (part 2), another Flickr scheduled, and, when all is said, the bulwark in more niceties. Contact us at alex@drawnalism.com or matt@drawnalism.com in the consequence profit more details as to how we could negligee your consequence.
Moseley BarCamp – 28 June 2009
.aaand when all is said we form up to what I was up to at the weekend, namely Shona McQuillan’s latest drive – the Moseley BarCamp. Held in the upstairs reside of the Cross bar in the arborescent Birmingham suburb of Moseley on a steaming summers afternoon, the BarCamp ran on equivalent lines to the aforementioned WxWM2, and again I was composition sketches on my pill hooked up to a projector (courtesy of Jon Bounds of Birmingham It’s Not Shit, amongst others).
Phew! I reckon that’s concede all things covered. This was a bigger consequence despite the fact that, with more speakers, a larger company and unruffled eats laid on on the bar (thanks!). I’m misled to another consequence this afternoon, so there’ll be more to bind fast!
